WCA SEA War 3 professional qualifiers Lucifer vs Check Recap

WCA2015 Warcraft 3 professional qualifiers (Southeast Asia division) have come to second stage; there are many super stars in this series. It’s very rare to see such a world class competition in the first round,the fiery NE player Check faced the great UD player Lucifer. So now, let’s see this great battle together!

Game 1

The first map is actually pretty large for 1 v 1. In the early game both sides played pretty normally. UD starts with the death knight, and the NE starts with the demon hunter. Then NE uses ancient of war to clear creeps,and UD uses ghoul to clear creeps very quickly, after that the NE harass UD beside the UD’s base, but it was not worked well.

Soon after, NE stuck in very awkward situation. The demon hunter was surrounded by enemies and unable to escape, recall is the only thing he can do. Lucifer got some advantage in the first fight.

Then, both sides began to upgrade his technology. Obviously, the face to face fight is not suitable for NE,but NE didn’t harass to pressure UD’s base, then UD lead the game little by little.Dryad+Druid of the Claw can’t match with Destroyer+Abomination anymore, Druid of the Claw even didn’t dare roar when he met with enemies, Check didn’t do well in this game. He had many mistakes and played too passive, so, his defeat is making sense.

Game 2

In the second Game, Check changed his strategy. Used Demon hunter to harass more frequently in the early game, let Lucifer felt very difficult in the process of MF.On the other hand, Check chose Pandaren Brewmaster as the second hero, and used Brewmaster to MF with ancient of war, on the other hand, the demon hunter leads a small troops to continue harass and contain UD, finally, Lucifer can’t handle with this many-sided attack all the time, be kept constantly on the run.

Of course, Check also encountered some difficulties in the game.The Brewmaster soloed to lvl3, but killed by the enemies in a large-scale battle, the demon hunter wanted to revenge for panda, so he became super angry, and chasing Naga crazily until they are very close to the enemies’ base.

Lucifer seems too passive after that, he can't handle with Check’s unstoppable harassment, in an encounter in the wild, the strongest death knight got killed, Lucifer always faced crisis.While Check hit and run until his Brewmaster joined his principle force, Lucifer couldn’t do anything after that,he sadly typed GG. Check won the game.

Game 3

The third game came to a small map, this is an opportunity for UD. Both sides played normal start,but no one gained extra advantage.After early game, both two sides went clearing creeps by themselves, the game became peaceful.

Check used the same strategy,kept harassing the death knight, who was trying to level up, and once almost kill the death knight. But Lucifer got plan B for everything, he did not lose his mind like last game. Until now, the game is still peaceful.

Both two sides kept fighting in the jungle for public resource, but Lucifer figured out that Check was trying to expand his second gold mine,Due to Check expanded to a double gold mine,he couldn’t extend his advantage,Lucifer start lead the game gradually.

The late game is Lucifer’s show time. Check still couldn’t take advantages in the game. After upgrading the third tier technology, UD’s advantage becomes bigger and bigger. Lucifer summoned a frost Wyrm in the late game, Check seemed has no chance to win. After the last battle,Check’s force was almost completely wiped out, Even Check did his best to kill the lich, but he has no force to continue the race.

Check bet his all on a single throw,used the Globin Zeppelin sneak attacks opponent’s base, but that only delayed Lucifer’s offence a little.Check was still unable to build another gold mine,he was in a very unfavorable situation. Finally, Check typed GG, Lucifer 2-1 won the game.
