eSports Arena Highlight #1: DOTA 2 Tournament

Dota 2 is an MMORPG played in matches involving two teams of five players. Each occupies a stronghold at a corner of the map containing a building called the "Ancient", which the opposite team must destroy to win the match. Each player controls a character called a "Hero", and focuses on leveling up, collecting gold, acquiring items, and fighting against the other team to achieve victory.

Heroes of the Storm features heroes from Blizzard's franchises including Warcraft, Diablo, and StarCraft. Players first start the game with 5 heroes provided by the free hero rotation, a methodically selected list that changes weekly, but by using gold, the in-game source of wealth, or through microtransactions, they can gain permanent access to a hero. By mounting different creatures, such as horses or unicorns, to increase their movement speed, automatically unmounting when dealing/receiving damage or using an ability players will need to work themselves through each map. A different side-objective will help either team deal significant damage to the other during the gameplay.

FIFA Online 3 is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online football game. In FIFA Online 3, players can choose to play and customize a team from any of over 30 leagues and 15,000 real world players. Players can either play single-player through a season, or play against other online players. Playing matches earns EP, which is the in-game currency used to buy players and items.

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is an online collectible card game developed by Blizzard Entertainment. It is free-to-play with optional purchases to acquire additional cards and access content quicker. It is basically a digital collectible card game that revolves around turn-based matches between two opponents. Players can choose from a number of game modes, with each offering a slightly different experience.

In conjunction with the local institution’s eSport Clubs, we are organizing an Inter-School Cyber Challenge where 8 schools including Multimedia University, KDU University, Tunku Abdul Rahman College, Inti Subang, Inti Nilai, KBU, University of Nottingham, University Sains Malaysia will be down to take part of this challenge.

Anime and Cosplay Highlight #1:

Pugoffka (Special Guest Photographer and Cosplayer) - Ukraine

Hailing from Ukraine, Pugoffka takes the hobby of cosplay to an extreme. She is first, a highly-skilled cosplay photographer with a great pair of eyes on getting the best angles with almost perfect backgrounds. Then, an avid cosplayer whose cosplays focuses on careful-accurate portrayals of the characters. Respectively, with both 7 and 4 solid years in the scene she is admired by many aspiring cosplay photographers for her skills and daringness to experiment and thriving cosplayers for her detailed craftsmanship.

To date, she had captured more than 450 cosplay photoshoots as a photographer and around 20 costumes as a cosplayer. Her hobby had actually brought her into countless travels, meetings and photoshoots experiences with cosplayers all around the world including Japan, Russia, China, Poland and many more. This, however, will be her first debut in Malaysia and SouthEast Asia so it shall be both Malaysia Cosplay Toshokan and Genysis’ honour to have her here to join us.

Onnies (Special Guest Cosplayer) - Thailand

Having been in the wonderful cosplay realm for the last 8 years, Onnies is a multi-talented cosplayer from our neighbouring Thailand. Onnies, whom is no longer an outsider in our local ACG scene, has actually made multiple appearances in Malaysia and all around SouthEast Asia quite frequently, thus, she is definitely recognised for her distinctively outstanding character portrayals and jolly-easygoing semblance to bring people together. She has been seen cosplaying countless characters since she started and had her worked acknowledged by so many people already tells us she excels in her craftsmanship and also ability to be in the character as though they are alive and in flesh and blood. She can be both a drop-dead gorgeous and enticing female characters and insanely smooth and enchanting as a male character. Malaysia Cosplay Toshokan and Genysis is honoured to have her once again back to join us in Game Plan this time ‘round.

Stella✰Beats (Special Guest Idols) ft. Dj Kana-chan - Japan

As one of the youngest idol group from Japan, Stella✰Beats is well-known for their unique and fresh music! Consisting of four young, highly talented and not to mention bubbly ladies, Stella✰Beats firstly made their debut into the scene just a year ago in 2014. They however have managed to earn a good amount of success, all due to their hard work and talent. To date, they've managed to come up with two well-received singles.The first is 'Kono Koi Wa Tomaranai', which roughly translates into 'Don't stop this love'. This song dominated the number one spot on the Oricon daily chart, and was even used as the ending theme song for a show on TV Asahi. Their second song, 'Fantastic Traveller' was just released several months ago in May. 'Fantastic Traveller is penned by one of the top lyricists in Japan, Yoshiyuki Kinoshita. Cosplay Feature, also known as the Hall of Cosplayers is a specially entitled hallway set up for the invited cosplayers to showcase and reflect the whole spectrum of their talent in cosplaying through various means. The hallway specially designated as a stage for the cosplayers to share their passion in the art of cosplay with one another. In hope for it to be both interactive and inspiring, the hall also aims to denote the creativity and the talent of the cosplayers' ability to accurately recreate and materialise the fantasy in animation and games to viable, usable props, costumes and portrayals. We also aspire for this Cosplay Feature to be a token of appreciation in celebrating their excellent and innovative craftsmanship along with the efforts shown by the cosplayers in designing their favourite character. In addition, this also functions as a platform of opportunity created by Malaysia Cosplay Toshokan (MCT) in collaboration with Genysis of GamePlan 2015 for the local cosplayers to show their enthusiasm and be a part of Malaysia's cosplay collection locally and internationally. Cosplayers invited will be doing a runway and have photo opportunities with their supporters on Day 2.

Of course what an ACG event would be without all the fun and joy of having booths. As a standard to many ACG conventions, GamePlan 2015 will feature a series of 30 booths housing local dōjin and vendors who come together in hope to publicise their name and artworks along with some small scale vendors who would like to sell tertiary products related to animation and games. Typically the dōjin will be bringing their reimagined artworks of published animation and games but also often, they would have their own original characters and designs created.
